Band 6 PACS/RIS System Administrator – 12 months fixed term post

Fixed term post for 12 months to support Imaging and Cardiology clinical systems.
Suitable for candidates with an Imaging or IT background and an interest in Imaging IT.

UHB seeks an enthusiastic, experienced PACS RIS Systems Administrator with an Imaging or IT background and an interest in Imaging IT systems. The successful applicant will require specialist knowledge of the operation of IT systems, including PACS and RIS, and how they relate to the clinical environment and processes, plus a thorough understanding of Imaging workflow and Information systems, and an understanding of PMI and eRequesting would be highly beneficial.

You will need have a good working knowledge of the NHS Hospital administrative procedures and desirable that you are familiar with the clinical systems (specifically RIS and PACS).

UHB has recently invested in a Philips Carestream PACS and Philips ISCV solution to link access to imaging across the multiple hospital sites. The role of the PACS Team is integral to supporting the Imaging and Cardiology IT systems.

As a member of the PACS Team you will be based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with the ability to work on any of the other sites as required.

You will be expected to interact with and support a wide range of staff with mixed technical backgrounds and requirements; including senior clinical, professional, management and administrative staff, as well as other IT professional in the day to day execution of your role, it is therefore essential that you have excellent communication skills and an ability to prioritise you workload, delivering to deadlines set.
