Band 6 - RIS Administrator - UHB (Birmingham)

The Imaging Department at University Hospitals Birmingham is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced RIS System Administrator to be responsible for the RIS system including set up, administration interrogation and maintenance, and for ensuring a high level of data quality.

This post would be a great opportunity to be part of our dedicated, friendly team delivering a high quality Imaging IT service across multiple sites. The successful applicant will require specialist knowledge of RIS system management and be able to use the statistics package. They will have a thorough understanding of Imaging workflow and Information systems and how they relate to each other and the clinical environment and processes. An understanding of PAS, PACS, Order Communications and other hospital systems and the messaging between them would be highly beneficial.

As a member of the PACS Team you will be based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital with the ability to work on any of the other sites as required.

You will be expected to interact with and support a wide range of staff with mixed technical backgrounds and requirements; including senior clinical, professional, management and administrative staff, as well as other IT professional in the day to day execution of your role, it is therefore essential that you have excellent communication skills and an ability to prioritise you workload, delivering to deadlines set.

The successful applicant will also be required to provide RIS training to system users, both on a one to one and group basis.
