We’ve been very pleased to contribute to the NIHR RSET evaluation programme, which builds on the phase 1 findings around implementing AI in chest diagnostics in real-world clinical practice.
One of the key messages from the Manchester experience is that successful deployment of CXR AI is not simply about algorithm performance, but about pathway redesign, operational integration, clinical engagement, governance and understanding where automation can safely add value.
The AIDF programme has created a unique opportunity to evaluate AI at scale across routine NHS practice, generating lessons that extend far beyond standalone accuracy studies.
We look forward to continuing to support AIDF2 and enabling more sites to benefit from AI-enhanced detection, triage and optimisation of further investigation strategies within lung cancer and chest diagnostic pathways.
