At present, partly due to the suspension of projects during COVID now lifting, and the loss of the EU personnel who previously formed a large part of the support workplaces, the PACS jobs market is in an unusual state of motion with demand far outstripping supply for experienced staff.
PACS Project Managers
There are 15 PACS Project Manager vacancies currently available throughout the UK with a shortage of applicants pushing up market rates to an average of £80,000-£95,000 per year for qualified/experienced PACS Project Managers, with the highest remuneration being offered at £145,000 for a PACS Project Manager in London. As many of these are now being chased by recruitment firms, to avoid “spam” I will not be posting individual updates on PACS Project Manager positions until the market normalises, probably around October 2021.
PACS Administration Posts
Recently a large influx of Band 2 posts has appeared on the market. Band 2 is an entry level role and is generally not reflective of the minimum valueset required to assist in a PACS Team. As it is unlikely for this sites readership to be applying for Band 2 positions these will also not be posted for the time being (although I appreciate some PACS Team members do like having the information for market intelligence there is a balance with time spent posting and spam to subscribers to be considered!).
Pathology PACS / Medical Photography PACS Posts
As the skillset is similar to Radiology and a number of traditionally Radiology focused PACS team members have pivoted into these roles in the past, these will now be posted where possible.
