Many Vendors Unveilled a Cloud PACS at HIMSS 2021

Summary: Newly released PACS flavours seem to be all heavily pushing cloud. This may be due to the ease of integration with AI software (requiring frequent and rapid updates, easier in the cloud) which can be upsold as a revenue stream. No real major new developments in the basic softwares noted. ‘Shuffle Mode’ is being trialed in a centre to discourage ‘cherry picking’ of cases to report. There is an interesting innovation allowing transplant recipients automatic access to historic imaging of ‘their’ organ in the previous body without linking the donor/recipient patients permanently.
