Has anyone any info on interim order comms solutions. We may be forced into a situation where we may be rendered without integration between EPR and RIS for a short term. rather than resort to paper requesting and the risks involved is there any interim solution that could be added?

When I worked in Royal Berks Hospital in Reading we used an application from Pukka J to provide integration between EPR and PACS to devices outside any radiology involvement. Their application is called Nexus and can be configured for most comms issues.

I have worked on similar gaps between EPR and RIS in clinical environments.
There are a few lightweight middleware options that can bridge the systems temporarily without full integration.
