Philips Speech Mike Query

CRIS version 2.12.13
Philips Speech mike Premium 3500.

We have several speechmikes when in use with CRIS that turn on when placed horizontal and then turn off when brought upright. When in the upright position the button can be pressed and then it turns. Like a deadmans switch.

The Phillips software ensures me that the motion control is turned off

This issue has only just started an only effecting a handful of workstations that I am aware of.

Has anyone else experienced this problem?

We use Philips speech mic pro and III I believe. But if the mic swiches on and off depending on how you hold it then motion control is still active I would think, despite what the software tells you.

It’s an awful feature and should be permanently disabled!!

We are finding it annoying too. Perhaps it’s finally time to dig out the documentation…

Tip

Press and hold the F2 and F4 keys on the SpeechMike simultaneously until the record indicator light flashes to activate and deactivate the automatic muting of the microphone using the motion sensor.

Thank you all,

It appears that T-Pro was interfering with the motion control.

Thanks all.
Looks like we have found the cause - just now working out the fix.
The Trust have recently started replacing our Trust digital dictation system, Winscribe, with T-pro.
Seems there is some setting or conflict within the T-pro software that is causing the speechmike’s to adopt the motion sensor functionality - and it is overriding any manual switch off we do on the microphones themselves…
Just thought i’d share in case anyone else can’t manually switch off.

If you need to debug the cause in a bit more detail and can get it to happen predictably, this may be useful: CaptureSetup/USB - Wireshark Wiki

It sounds like you might be on this already but, if you get time, it might be useful to post more details of what you find for this community.

As it stands, CRIS only has integration with Dragon (which is unsupported) and Augnito. There is no integration available for any other VR solution direct into CRIS, meaning copy and paste from a different window is your only option - but that carries risk.

We understand from Magentus that they are now working hard to become “VR Agnostic” but we don’t have set timelines for that.
