Hi All,
We are in the process of reviewing how we offer remote reporting within our Enterprise.
Does anyone have options beyond the usual hardware at home?
We use a VM solution with a Horizon client. We still need the monitor and PC setup at home but the power and network are all on site.
Hello Mike,
RWT have been home reporting for a while now, some points to note –
The spec of our home workstations and monitors are the same as those used on site. Staff use home broadband which connects to PACS via Trust VPN.
Interesting that the RCR’s publication on diagnostic displays back in 2019 discouraged the use of VPN’s and screen sharing ‘because the fidelity of the transmitted image is usually inadequate’
I’m not aware if that guidance has been updated since then.
Pretty much the same as Stephen. Same workstation set up as on site, home broadband connection via Cisco router.
We rely on a third party to configure our routers so if we have a new users but no router available, they use the authenticator controlled VPN other Trust staff use to access the network (Ivanti). Our IT ops colleagues are reluctance to allow too many Radiology users to access PACS for reporting using Ivanti because of bandwidth usage for that system rather than any images quality issues. Home reporting routers are supplied by a separate connection.
